Our position
The Oyster Room believes that creative excellence and environmental responsibility are not in conflict. As a global production studio, we recognise our obligation to minimise our footprint while delivering world-class work for our clients.
How we work
Our studio model is built around lean, distributed teams across Asia Pacific, the USA and Europe. This structure reduces the need for large permanent offices and limits unnecessary travel. Where possible, we prioritise remote collaboration, virtual production techniques and local crew to minimise the environmental impact of every project.
Production practices
We actively integrate technologies that reduce waste in the production process. AI-driven CGI and virtual production allow us to create photorealistic environments and products without the material cost, transport emissions and location footprint of traditional builds. When physical production is required, we work with crews and vendors who share our commitment to responsible practices.
Digital responsibility
Our website is built with performance in mind: optimised code, lazy-loaded media and efficient hosting, reducing the energy required to serve every page view. We use Netlify's globally distributed CDN, which routes content from the nearest data centre to minimise transmission energy.
Supply chain
We prefer to partner with suppliers and vendors who demonstrate their own environmental commitments. When selecting production partners, equipment providers and post-production facilities, sustainability is a factor in our decision-making alongside quality and capability.
Continuous improvement
Sustainability is an evolving discipline. We are committed to reviewing and improving our practices as new technologies, standards and opportunities emerge. We welcome conversations with clients and partners about how we can work together more responsibly.
