Accessibility

Our commitment

The Oyster Room is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we continuously work to improve the experience for everyone.

What we do

Our website has been built with accessibility in mind. We use semantic HTML to provide meaningful structure, maintain strong colour contrast ratios for readability, ensure all interactive elements are keyboard-navigable, provide descriptive alt text for images, use ARIA labels where appropriate to support assistive technologies, and design with responsive layouts that work across devices and screen sizes.

Video content

Our website features background video for visual presentation purposes. These videos are decorative, auto-play silently, and do not contain essential informational content. All key information is available in text form.

Third-party content

Our website uses Google Fonts for typography. While we strive to ensure all elements meet accessibility standards, third-party services operate under their own accessibility policies.

Ongoing effort

Accessibility is not a one-time task. We regularly review our website against current standards and best practices, and we welcome feedback from our visitors to help us improve.

Known limitations

While we work toward full compliance, some areas may not yet fully meet every WCAG 2.1 AA criterion. We are actively identifying and addressing any gaps.

Feedback

If you experience any difficulty accessing content on our website, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at hello@theoysterroom.com. We take all feedback seriously and will do our best to respond within two business days.
